the great pacific escapade
The team are currently undertaking their biggest challenge yet: 8000 miles of Pacific ocean. Starting in Peru, South America, the team will row continuously until they reach the shores of Australia. Rowing up to 15 hours a day, the voyage could take around 6 months. When not rowing, we’ll be sleeping or eating, requiring approximately 5000 calories a day to fuel.

SEAS THE DAY’S Mission
Seas the Day is an ocean rowing team born out of a passion for adventure and a love for the ocean. It began when Miriam Payne fearlessly embraced the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in a 7.5m ocean rowing boat, taking on the ocean as a solo competitor in 2022.
Why ocean rowing?
Because it is so much more than just a sporting challenge. It is an adventure to the truest extent of the word. It encapsulates the very essence of adventure, the spirit of daring exploration, resilience, and the pursuit of personal growth.
We are driven by the belief that life should be lived to the fullest, and our rowing endeavours epitomise this philosophy. By embracing the challenges of the open ocean, we encourage others to embrace their own personal challenges and discover the limitless possibilities that lie beyond their comfort zones.
With fierce minds, brave hearts and free spirits the team will navigate the vast expanse of the ocean. They thrive on the thrill of exploration, and look forward to journeying beyond familiar shores to discover the wonders that await in the vast unknown.
Halfway across the Pacific and still grinning from ear to salt-sprayed ear. Since relaunching from Peru, Jess and Mims have battled monster waves, a swollen rowing hand, power hiccups, and the occasional airborne spoonful of freeze-dried curry and all with unwavering smiles. In this latest update, we follow their highs, lows, and viral wins from the middle of the ocean. From moonlit rowing shifts to 3.6 million TikTok views, here’s what life looks like at the 4,000-mile mark of their epic Pacific row with Seas The Day!
